The Far Sight Tarot is self-published and was first printed in Brisbane, Australia in December, 2006.

This vivid, full colour and fully illustrated deck and booklet comes as a set. The cards are 15cm x 9.2cm printed on rapier deluxe artboard 360gsm.

The original artwork for the Far Sight are all individually hand painted, vibrant acrylic paintings on canvas. These were all scanned and the numbers, titles and keywords added digitally by my husband.

Although the Far Sight Tarot is a seventy-eight card deck, there are actually eighty-six cards. This is because there are seven optional cards plus one blank, so there's an extra card for card zero, the ODDBALL; card four, MACHISMO; card six, the LOVERS; card fourteen, TEMPERANCE; the five of water, FEELING BLUE; the ten of water, TRANQUILITY; and Earth Boy, WILD THING. The choice is yours but remember to use only one of each in a reading.

The four tarot suits are simply referred to as earth, water, air and fire.

In the Major Arcana, JUSTICE is card VIII and FORTITUDE is card XI.

Unlike most tarot decks, the Far Sight associates the swords with the fire element.

The cards are accompanied by an illustrated, full colour eighty-five page booklet 15cm x 9.5cm printed on digi laser bond 100gsm with the front and back covers on rapier deluxe artboard 360gsm. This booklet is intended to be an easy guide to the cards.

In the booklet, the twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana are presented in pairs as if mirroring the cards in the corresponding position on the other side of an imaginary infinity symbol. For instance, card zero mirrors card twenty; card one mirrors card nineteen; card two mirrors card eighteen and so forth. Card twenty-one mirrors card ten. All the same numbered cards of the Minor Arcana are in groups of four as are all the court cards e.g. all four kings can be viewed together in the booklet along with their meanings without having to turn the page.

The Pages are referred to as Girls and the Knights, Boys. The images of the seven optional cards don't appear in the booklet. Reversed meanings are mentioned but are meant as suggestions only as both positive and negative aspects can be read into either upright or reversed cards.

About the Far Sight and its creator:
Hello, my name is Helen and I designed, painted and wrote the Far Sight Tarot. I was born in Brisbane, Australia where I still live today. I'm a housewife. Prior to the births of our children
I worked as a commercial artist.
Many years have passed since the initial and raw concept of the Far Sight began. Its source of creation was born in my mind's eye and was influenced of course by the spectrum of tarot in general and also from personal experiences and observations.

Q: Why a new deck when there are so many available already?
A: Although it became (and still remains) an insightful experience, my original fancy to design, paint and write a tarot of my very own was probably a product of a casual whim - no more than a notion of a quest for simplicity and individuality, fuelled by a naive curiosity, possibly too much enthusiasm, but loads of perseverance. For whatever reasons and in spite of my inexperience I began, like the fool, my personal journey through self-expression into the mysterious realms of tarot.

Inspiration for the Far Sight came about by observing both the simplicity and diversity of life . . . My version of Ouroboros appears on all the cards' backs and also on card one, the GENIUS. This ever-fascinating symbol of perpetual change also (to my mind) bears a resemblance to the sign of infinity, a strong influence in this deck. Along with this concept of the unity of all things, close family, acquaintances and self are portrayed in metallic hues inspired by statues from antiquity, and somehow all come together with mythological characters, astrology, animals, chessboards, the Southern Cross and personal memorabilia to form the designs of the cards. I hope that the Far Sight Tarot becomes a gentle, positive force that brings as much enjoyment to others as I've had creating it.
